According to BITKRAFT and Naavik, the gaming industry is worth around $336B, more than all other media categories combined. There are now over 3 billion players worldwide, but user growth has slowed as the world reemerges from pandemic lockdowns. This begs the question: what innovation will drive the next wave to start playing?
The emergence of Web3 and GameFi hold the answer. Heralded as the next version of the internet and built on blockchains, Web3 prioritizes community governance and user ownership of content, data, and platforms, enabled by NFTs and cryptocurrencies. These tools have ushered in a new era of Web3 Gaming, also referred to as GameFi, that offers enhanced ownership, creativity, and economic opportunities for players and game devs alike. With new tech and new business models, web3 games will drive the future growth of the global gaming industry.
Gaming guilds are communities of blockchain gamers who benefit from the research, community, and scholarships offered by guild team members. But Ancient8 is much more than just a guild. ANCIENT8: DEVELOPING THE INFRASTRUCTURE LAYER FOR GAMEFI
Ancient8 is developing the infrastructure layer for GameFi. The three main pillars of our organization – Guild, Community, and Software – will support this endeavor and help massively scale our community and Web3 gaming as a whole.
Today, Web2 gaming is dominated by the major game publishers that control distribution and have immense power over game studios. Now, thanks to blockchain tech, guilds, games, and gamers are building a brand new system with Web3 principles. By leveraging our deeply engaged community across our global network of local sub-guilds, Ancient8 will facilitate game distribution and viral marketing to connect thousands of GameFi projects with millions of players.
As a leading guild and early partner to over a dozen games, Ancient8 understands the need for solid infrastructure to support the sustainable development of Web3 gaming. With the funding and expertise of our world-class backers, Ancient8 software products will enable GameFi and Metaverse projects to onboard and manage communities at scale. The products currently in development include a Guild dashboard and GameFi token/NFT launchpads, and more.
Even as our scope and influence grows, Community is at the core of all our endeavors. We will continue to empower future Metaverse citizens with high-value scholarships, blockchain education, institutional-grade research, and access to exclusive opportunities in the hottest Web3 games.
