Ancient8 Axie Infinity Championship Series Season 1 Tournament Recap

The Ancient8 Axie Championship Series Season 1 tournament that took place at Ancient8's Discord has come to an end with spectacular and unexpected matches by the many soldiers of the Ancient8 army and players from all over the world.

Ancient8 is proud to organize the Ancient8 Axie Championship Series Season 1 Tournament with our goal to deliver a vibrant atmosphere to the Ancient8 community, particularly the Axie Infinity enthusiasts. The Ancient8 team is very happy to obtain the vigorous support of our fellow soldiers with nearly 200 registrations.

In this tournament, Ancient8’s Axie Infinity Championship Series Season 1 proudly acquires the attention and participation of soldiers from both internal and external communities outside Ancient8. Impressively, the registration list of this season was filled with both male and female players from a variety of nations including Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Brazil, Columbia, etc.

After 2 days of immense battling, the Ancient8 community and Axie fans obtained the opportunity to admire the sublime battles with an array of tactical decisions and diverse lineups as well as distinct approaches of individual players. The quarter-finals were amongst the most prominent rounds of the tournament which included the fierce competition amongst renowned Esports players in the Ancient8 Axie Infinity gaming community such as Nub and Huutinbro.

Through a series of thrilling battles, the first Champion of the Axie Infinity Championship Series has been crowned Jeezzy with a 4-0 victory in the BO7 final series over the tournament runner-up, Huutinbro.

It is fair to state that Jeezzy has a thorough understanding of his opponent to subsequently build a corresponding and impactful counter lineup. In the initial phase, both of them initiated their lineups in a full-frontal assault approach concentrating on immense damage generation. However, with the front & mid-line capability of assembling acceptable armor and healing, Bird, on one hand, was the one that carried the team, and on the other hand, skillfully seizing advantage of the Aroma debuff to create sufficient room for other teammates to recover. This strategy, therefore, placed a direct influence on Jeezzy’s opponent's tactical decisions.

In the later stage of the match, Huutinbro was compelled to solve the extreme issue of "Bird Aroma '' in order to continue competing in the championship. As a result, he decided to replace Mech Backdoor in his lineup. However, Jeezzy’s team was built with the intention of thoroughly countering Huutinbro. If Huutinbro acquired the hot meta Mech Backdoor of Furball & Twin tail, then Jeezzy with Fish Healing - Bumpy made it impossible for Huutinbro to demolish the armor and execute damage to the mid-line. Unfortunately for Huutinbro, we can only wish him better luck in the coming seasons.
